Behind the design of a good wine there is always a complexity of external factors to the winemaking and viticulture processes per se. Those factors are of cultural and traditional nature, and fortify the identity and authenticity of a destination or, in this case, a wine. Castelo de Azurara marks the historical identity of the region associated with its monumental heritage, combining the medieval name of the city - Azurara da Beira - with a striking symbol of the region, Nossa Senhora do Castelo (Our Lady of the Castle).
